Local Residents Utilizes Hydroponic Garden at Smart RPTRA to Plant Crops

Smart Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RTPRA), Meruya Utara Urban Village, Kembangan, West Jakarta has 300 square meters land that is used for hydroponic garden. Local residents are also involved to plant crops in this hydroponic garden.

In harvesting season, we also give it to the locals

"We are taking care these plants every day. In harvesting season, we also give it to the locals," said Ryan Hidayat, Meruya Utara Smart RTPRA Administrator, Monday (7/22).

Rustanti RPTRA Provides Hydroponic Garden

In this garden, they plant turmeric, kencur (Kaempferia galanga), red ginger, tomato, bok choy, mustard greens, eggplant, and chili using hydroponic system.

Ari (45), local resident who lives on Jalan Mawar Putih that is located near the RTPRA conveyed, he usually gets the harvested crops from RPTRA.

"Its fruits and vegetables are fresh. When it is time to harvest, we usually take it for self-consumption," he mentioned.
